Matrix product states for emitters in an SSH cavity array
Collective light-matter effects such as superradiance and subradiance are well understood for emitters coupled to a Markovian bath. For more complex, structured baths, such as an SSH-like cavity chain, the existence and behavior of these many-excitation effects has remained largely unexplored, mainly because the relevant Hilbert space is intractably large. In this talk we present the matrix product state (MPS) method as a tool capable of simulating the dynamics of such a system, and we show preliminary results indicating the existence of both super- and subradiance in the coupled SSH chain.
